Lisa K. Brown, Ph.D.
Dr. Lisa K. Brown is the owner of Perfected Papers Plus, and a Senior Public Policy Analyst in the federal government. She is also an adjunct business professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC). Dr. Brown earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from Howard University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. She has taught political science, research methods, business, and doctoral capstone courses at Howard University, Ashford University, Capitol Technology University, and UMGC. She previously worked as an Associate Director at the University of Maryland College Park in the College of Education, where she was primarily responsible for data analyses related to the college’s accreditation. Dr. Brown has worked with students on their academic papers for over 15 years. She has provided editing and research advice, as well as statistical analyses to doctoral candidates and colleagues in several subject areas, including Political Science, Education, Business, and Psychology. Dr. Brown is considered an expert in research methods and is the primary consultant for Research Services. Her research interests include American politics, international public policy, higher education, and entrepreneurship.
Sarita Barton, Ph.D.
Dr. Sarita Barton serves as a management and program analyst for the federal government. Her research interests include international volunteer service, interpersonal trust formation, international social development, and international social work. She has been the principal investigator for research projects in Africa on the interpersonal and community impacts of short-term volunteer programs and written publications on the host community and host organization evaluations of international volunteers. Dr. Barton has worked and conducted research in multiple countries in Africa and Asia. She also volunteered for the Peace Corps in Madagascar, working as an English teacher at the district high school and developing programs to encourage economic development and improve public health. Prior to this, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in sociology at Yale University. Dr. Barton holds a Master’s degree in social work from the School of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a Hutto-Patterson fellow and served on the student government. She obtained her PhD from the Brown School of Social Work and Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis. While at the Brown School, she won the International Dissertation Award and was a member of the McDonnell International Scholar’s Academy.
